Builder Tip #130 from HomebuiltHELP
Scratch Building a Gyroplane
There are still builders creating aircraft from scratch!
Whether building a gyroplane or fixed wing - the skills and demeanor required for either are the same. To build an aircraft without the benefits of a kit requires a special set of skills.

Meet "Gyro Jake" who has constructed literally dozens of gyroplanes with many of them winning awards at national fly-ins. We were fortunate to be able to interview him at Bensen Days fly-in in Wauchula, Florida. This is a major gathering of gyroplanes in the US held each April.

Gyro Jake has appeared in a number of videos found on YouTube. He is well known in the gyroplane community. A link at the right will take you to a video that was used on TV.

Watch this short video on a real leader and talented builder of gyroplanes. Get inspired!
